About Bec

Rebecca Hyvonen is the founding pastor of Cross Creek Community Church in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Before becoming known as Pastor Bec, she received her BSN degree from Western Carolina University. She worked as a critical care nurse in North Carolina and Florida, has served on medical mission teams in Africa, and as a Nurse Educator for Daytona State College. She received her Masters of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Orlando, Florida. Most importantly, she is a child of God, a wife to Jon, and a mother to Jake and Rachel. In June of 2024, after 25 years in full time ministry, she passed the baton of Lead Elder at Cross Creek to the next generation. Rebecca spends her summers in Maine writing and going on adventures.
